Change it up a little bit...

One thing that is helpful in leading a group is changing it up every now and then.
Here are a couple of small changes that would help keep your group fresh:
  1. Change the timing:  Move the prayer time after the discussion time.
  2. Change the room set-up:  Recently, I placed two chairs in the middle of the circle.  People wondered what the chairs were  doing there.  We used them to talk through Pastor Duke's person A/person B example in the sermon.
Think about what you want to accomplish and if there is something you can do to help the members of your group connect to the message.

  1. Last night I told the people in our group I was going to give them two minutes to list personal prayer help ideas. Giving a set time eliminated that awkwardness that sometimes happens in group settings. Everyone knew when we were going to start talking again.

  2. Just heard one of the groups has a homework assignment...
Seek out an opportunity to share your faith with someone.
Pray that the members of David Barrows' group (and each of us) would do this.
