Helps for 03.06 questions

I would strongly urge you to use a Psalm for your prayer time.
Check out the prayer resources at www.emmanuelbaptist.com/blog/

I have shown some of these pray the Bible videos in my Soul Care group!

Be sure to read Roman 6:19-23 out loud.

I am going to offer some responses below to the three questions:
1. What does this section tell me about God and/or Jesus?
2. What does this section tell me about myself?
3. What must I remember/pray from this small section of scripture?

BUT remember the important part of your group time is the discussion and reaching Biblical answers together.

19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations.
For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

ABOUT MYSELF:
Each of us was a sinner controlled by impurity and lawlessness
This sinful nature led to more sin

REMEMBER/PRAY:
Thank you God for saving me from the power of sin!
Help me to live a life of righteousness especially in the area of ....

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

ABOUT MYSELF:
My sinful life led to death
I was sowing the fruit of sin
My sin is now something I am ashamed of

REMEMBER/PRAY:
Thank you God for saving me from the sting of death!

22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.

ABOUT GOD/JESUS:
God is a good master, the best master!  This is evidenced by the fact that He has provided everything - Jesus Christ - we need to live the life He commanded
God is the one who sanctifies through Jesus Christ.
God is the one who gives eternal life, through Jesus Christ.

ABOUT MYSELF:
I receive sanctification from God!
I can know and enjoy eternal life because of Jesus Christ.

REMEMBER/PRAY:
Thank you God for justifying me, for sanctifying me, for giving me eternal life.
If there was nothing else received from You these things would be MORE than enough!

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ABOUT GOD/JESUS:
God gives the gift of eternal life.
Eternal Life is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

REMEMBER/PRAY:
Thank you for the free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Thank you that, if I am trusting in Jesus Christ, I don't get what I really deserve because of my sin, which is death.

How are you changing and growing?  What are you changing and growing into?

These question provides a great opportunity for your group to get honest about what God is doing.
Have people share specific.
Remember to thank God for what He is doing and ask Him to help each person to grow.
